It’s why we’re proud to be recognised as one of the best care homes in Buckinghamshire.

Rooms

Our nursing home, originally a converted house, offers a unique charm with rooms of varying shapes and sizes. Some rooms feature private toilets, en-suite showers or basins, complemented by communal bathrooms and shower rooms.

Residents are encouraged to personalise their spaces, bringing items from armchairs to family photos. Rooms do not have locks for safety, but a lock can be installed upon request if deemed safe.

Facilities

Our stunning, functional premises make us one of the best care homes in Buckinghamshire. Our facilities include a cinema room, salon, separate dining room, activity lounge, communal areas and a mobility-friendly courtyard garden.

Doors are key-coded so residents at high risk of falls can walk around the gardens safely without needing staff supervision. They are also linked to the fire alarm system for automatic emergency release.

Activities

Our activities coordinators diligently plan various delightful and engaging activities, including a men’s club, arts and crafts and interactive games on a large screen for dementia patients. Each activity encourages mental alertness, self-esteem and social interaction, and we plan our activities with everyone’s capabilities, interests and wishes in mind. We also provide daily support services tailored to individual and group needs to enhance well-being and promote mental engagement. Explore our Magic Moments to see our cherished residents enjoying experiences that bring them joy.

Residents thrive with a dynamic monthly schedule of activities, available seven days a week, ensuring there’s always something engaging to participate in. Residents can take trips in our minivan to the nearby village for coffee, attend Sunday services at the local church or join in when the church service comes to us every other Wednesday.

Staff

When searching for the best care home in Buckinghamshire, you must consider the quality of care staff. Kingfishers prioritises comprehensive training and continuous education for all our staff to ensure the highest quality of care. Our care team and nurses complete mandatory training and undergo annual face-to-face dementia training from an external source. In addition, our staff receive life support and fire marshal training to handle emergencies effectively. Should any specific situation arise, bespoke training is promptly provided.

We also collaborate with Rennie Grove, an esteemed palliative care provider, to offer comprehensive, compassionate end-of-life care. Our dedicated team includes trained nurses in the building 24/7 and an in-house GP, ensuring residents receive exceptional medical care and support.

Visitation

We see ourselves as an extended family, welcoming loved ones to be part of daily life at Kingfishers. Whether it’s a quiet visit in a resident’s room, a lounge catch-up or a garden stroll, we encourage family and friends to visit whenever they like.

Our open-door policy means staying connected is simple, and we’re always here to offer support, listen to concerns and keep families involved in their loved one’s care.
