Summer BBQ Brings Everyone Together at Kingfishers Care Home
Residents, families, friends and members of the local community all came together at Kingfishers Care Home for the home’s annual Summer BBQ, enjoying an afternoon of good food, live music and time together in the sunshine.
The beautiful gardens provided the perfect backdrop for the event, with colourful bunting, fresh flowers and plenty of seating for guests to relax and catch up throughout the afternoon.
The Kingfisher’s kitchen team prepared a delicious BBQ featuring burgers, sausages, steaks, grilled vegetables, fresh salads and homemade treats. The team generously volunteered their time to help make the event possible, ensuring everyone was well looked after throughout the day.
One feature that quickly caught everyone’s attention was a handcrafted fruit display, cleverly carved from fresh watermelon and decorated with colourful fruit and flowers.
Throughout the afternoon, residents got to spend time with their loved ones, while children enjoyed the gardens and families caught up over refreshments, creating a lovely, relaxed atmosphere across the home. Sally Cranham provided some live entertainment, with everyone singing along, dancing and making the most of the summer afternoon.
One of the day’s most memorable moments came when several volunteers, who had first met the Kingfishers team during the Feast of St Peter in Chalfont St Peter, returned to the home after discovering that one of their close friends had recently moved in. Their visit led to a heartfelt reunion and was a lovely reminder of the friendships and connections that continue long after first meeting and wherever you go in life.
